Silly Kid

Two fun conversations from our morning.

Scene 1
The setting: BETSY and BELLA sitting together having breakfast.

BELLA places her arm around BETSY

BELLA: I love you, Dad.

BETSY: I'm Mom.

BELLA (after a slight pause): I love my dad.

Scene 2
The setting: BETSY and BELLA are sorting laundry. There's a radio on, and the song "It Won't Be Like This For Long" comes on.

BETSY sniffles a bit.

BELLA: Mommy, are you sad?

BETSY (smiling): A little bit, honey.

BELLA: Mommy, are you crying?

BETSY: Just a little bit, honey.

BELLA: Oh, it's okay, Mommy. Don't worry about it.

They both fold a few more things.

BELLA: Mommy?

BETSY: Yes?

BELLA: Are you crying because you're folding the laundry?

And the curtain closes.

It won't be like this for long...

Because I'm a sucker for a good country song...

It's a Girl!

We had our ultrasound today and it looks like we're in for another girl! This is Miss Evangeline Audrey, affectionately referred to as Eva. Everything looks great - she's measuring right on, and blood flow is looking good with no signs of any clots or other problems. Praise God for a healthy baby!

The first shot is the best profile we could get (her face was nestled pretty far down there and difficult to see), the second shot is her little foot, and the third shot is the proof that it's a girl. She was much more cooperative than her big sister and showed us right away what she was.

Goober Girl

Those of you who know me really well may know which face of mine Bella is imitating here. This is what she's asking for when she asks me to "scare" her.

Baby Update

It seems that Junebaby is continuing to grow, but still loving all the room that he/she has to squirm around in my belly. I can now see him kicking through my belly (actually through my clothes even - he likes to push against the elastic band of my maternity pants), and he seems to be quite the little gymnast.

Our big ultrasound is next Tuesday and we're looking forward to finding out if "it" is a he or a she. I'm most excited to find out because I want to start sorting through all the old baby clothes and figuring out what I will need to buy over the next 4 months. I also want to know if I should bother finishing that dress that I started when Bella was tiny, or just throw it away and start on something more boyish. Spring cleaning/organizing/creativity has gotten ahold of me and I want to start making things for baby and getting ready for his/her arrival and our move. One more week and then we'll let you all know!
