Beautiful.

Another Swing Fan...

It looks like we have another fan of the swing. Eva slept here for 3 hours straight yesterday morning while Bella ran all around hollering and playing. Amazing.

The Paci

Bella never liked a pacifier. We weren't dead set on her using one, so when she didn't take to it when we offered it, we didn't push the issue. Eva, on the other hand, is a big fan. See for yourself...

Sad...

Happy!

Sisters?

Do you see any similarities here?

The first one is Bella, and the second is Eva. Maybe it's just because we're their parents, but we think they're strikingly similar.

Miss Evangeline Audrey!

Baby Eva arrived last night, May 20th, at 8:56 pm, weighing 7 lbs 3 oz and measuring 19 1/2 inches (same weight as Bella but 1" shorter). She loves sleeping, and her daddy seems to be the only one capable of waking her up for feedings. Bella loves her new little sister and did a great job holding her this morning. We're in the hospital for another night to keep an eye on some things, but we're all doing really well (despite the sleep deprivation). Here are some pictures!

Waiting!

Andrew and I are in the hospital now and I'm being induced! The contractions are becoming more and more regular, so now it's just a waiting game. It's entirely possible that the hospital will put up a picture before I'll get the chance to, so if you'd like to check periodically the website is here. Just look for Miss Evangeline Audrey!

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

So I had my last doctor's visit today and I'm scheduled for an induction on Wednesday morning. That is, of course, if I make it to Wednesday morning! I've dilated a little more and I could theoretically go at "anytime" (the doctor actually said "tonight"), but the contractions have been pretty far apart for the past few days so I'm not keeping my fingers crossed. I also found out that I really only need to be off of my blood thinners for 12 hours prior to birth, not the 24 that I originally thought, which makes me feel much more comfortable with the idea of perhaps going into labor on my own in the next 5 days.

The weather forecast for the weekend is very good (I believe we even have a high above 80 on Sunday) so I'm looking forward to some fun time outside with my family of 3 for the next few days as we settle in for the birth of our new little girl!

Another update...

I forgot to mention my ultrasound last Thursday! It was just a routine growth check, but her head is still measuring quite large (just like Bella's was) and according to her head size she was actually "due" two days ago. Her belly is measuring a little bit ahead as well, but her leg (femoral length) was a few days behind. All in all, things look good. Her head was so far down though that we couldn't get any decent pictures, but we did manage to pick out a very chubby cheek, which is exactly what I like to see.

I managed to come down with a little stomach bug yesterday (technically Monday night) that ended up being quite miserable for about 24 hours. It was a "little" stomach bug, but combined with being 37+ wks pregnant, it was quite debilitating. Fortunately, I woke up quite refreshed this morning and am now just working on eating what I can so as to regain my strength. I really don't want to go into labor while still recovering from the flu!

Hangin' in there...

Little Evangeline is still safely inside my tummy, as you can see here. I did visit the hospital twice this past weekend though for contractions, only to find that there had been no changes. This was greatly reassuring to me because I made a point of not taking it easy this weekend, so if the walking and everything we did didn't change anything then I'm much more at ease about the coming week. So we're just going to hang out till Friday when my next appointment is and see what happens. As much fun as it would've been to have a Mother's Day baby, I have a feeling she'll be just a little cuter if we wait another week. :)

Eva Update

I had my 36 week appointment today and it looks like Little Eva is doing all she can to come see us a little sooner than planned! I'm officially in pre-term labor (I'm having contractions and they're dilating my cervix), but the plan is to try to keep her in for another 10 days or so till I hit the 38 week mark. So I'll be taking my contraction-stopping meds a little more often now and I've been instructed to head down to the hospital as soon as the contractions get any stronger. What's funny is that if the harder contractions strike at the right time, I might be able to not take my blood thinners and I could try for a natural delivery (well, at least there wouldn't be a need to induce me).

So, the next week and a half will be a little nerve wracking I'm sure. Once we get to 38 weeks though I really hope to be able to relax and just wait for her to come! Fortunately we have almost everything ready for her...I just need to finish one more cradle sheet, find Bella a present from Eva (Bella already bought Eva some shoes), and get some snacks to take with us to the hospital and we're set! I also need to get used to the idea that we're having another baby...I should probably put that at the top of my to do list...

Junior Firefighter

Bella went to the Teddy Bear Clinic at Gritman a few weeks ago and got a bag of goodies. One of the goodies was a firefighter shield sticker. She decided that she needed to put it on her shoulder, just like Daddy's. Not only did she need to put it on her shoulder, but she needed to put it on the shoulder of the zip out lining to her heavy coat, because Andrew's badge is on the zip out fleece lining to his heavy EMT jacket. When this girl imitates, she really imitates.
