What a sweetie...

This is not something I ever thought I'd want to post on the family blog, but you kind of need to know it to understand Bella's latest cute comment. I've developed some nasty varicose veins on my right leg to the point where I just put in an order for those lovely thigh length compression stockings that cost more than any sock should ever have the right to. Every once in a while I'll wince from the pain or have my leg propped up at an odd angle to promote circulation, so Bella has begun to ask what is up with my leg. This morning at breakfast she asked to see my leg again and sweetly commented, "Mama, you're so beautiful with your varicosities! They're purple!" Leave it to a 3 year old girl to love unsightly veins for their beautiful purple color. Oh, and yes, she does say "varicosities". It's right up there with "ciprofloxacin", "scapula", "clavicle", and "zygomatic arch" (all three properly pointed to, of course). We're raising a nerd.
