First Birthday Party

We had Eva's first birthday party last weekend at my parents' house. There were seven kids and eleven adults and I'm pretty sure we all had a great time. Here's the Birthday Girl right after she woke up (you can see the still sleepy puffy eyes behind that smile)...

We sang Happy Birthday and Bella freaked out, just like she always does, but on Eva's actual birthday she managed to sing happy birthday to her without any problems!!

Eva loved her cupcake, though she was a little confused as to why she was able to eat a butterfly...

The adults got these big (actually just normal) cupcakes and the kids had mini ones, complete with mini butterflies and leaves and flowers. You can go here for the how-to - they were actually quite easy to assemble!

And of course all of the children were darling and had fun sipping lemonade and eating chalk, I mean, cupcakes.

Here's the group, minus Josh and Anthony who I believe were outside. What's fun is that all four women in the top left half or so of the picture are expecting new little ones in the next six months, so next year the kiddos will outnumber the adults!

The favorite new toy was, of course, the ribbon.

And last but not least, a very cheerfully clapping little one year old!
