The girls have been gradually figuring out over the past few months that if they just throw all the miscellaneous clothes into the laundry pile when cleaning their room, things go much more quickly. I caught on recently and pointed out to them that this only makes things quicker for them. So, new rule. The girls put away all their own clothes. I'm hoping that this will motivate them to not create so much unnecessary laundry.
It's fortunate that just a few months ago I gave up on folding their clothes since it just put one extra hold up in the whole laundry routine. And really, what 4 year old looks through their shirt drawer without making it look like a mini tornado attacked anyway? We'll see how this works.
