Our Hero

At the risk of sounding mushy about how impressive we think Andrew is, I'm going to post this link to a short video about the Moscow Volunteer Fire Department. Andrew isn't in the video, but Debby (in the video) was his boss back when he worked at Moscow High School as an athletic trainer, and she's the paramedic on Andrew's ambulance crew now. Not only does the video show how amazing the sacrifice of volunteer EMTs and firefighters is, but it has some nice shots of the Palouse as well! So click here, and go to the third video at the bottom that says "Moscow" under it.

It takes a very dedicated and amazing guy to sacrifice so much of his time to the care of others. In a town 90 miles away. While in the middle of PA school. Without pay. Frequently at 2:00 in the morning. Oh, and have we mentioned that he's only required to go on 6 calls a month, but has already put in 11 calls for October? Yeah. We're pretty proud.

Fun With Rice Cereal

Little Paws

Park Time

Bella loves the park. Eva's not too sure. Unfortunately, Bella usually moves too fast to be captured on film.

Every girl does it...

Bella got into my make-up the other day. I'm just glad she didn't poke herself in the eye with the mascara wand.

Sisters

This picture of Eva...

...reminds me of this picture of Bella. Hard to keep them straight sometimes.

Greenbluff

We headed up to Greenbluff more than a month for a few hours with my Mom, Aunt Janice and Uncle "Tank" (Frank), and Ammy while they were visiting. I'm just now getting to post about it because I am very very slow.

We ate lunch...

Bought apples...

Picked pumpkins...

And got sick of pictures.

School

...is going well. Andrew is staying quite busy, but he's doing well. One of his professors has already dubbed him "The Machine" because he can rattle off the steps to examinations so quickly and completely. Bella and I have both been very willing "patients" for him to practice his exams on, and every once in a while he'll let us return the favor. Check out Bella practicing her funduscopy skills on Papa...

Last week was Andrew's White Coat Ceremony when he (you guessed it) received his white coat, identifying him as a transitioning medical professional. Here is his class, the Medex Spokane Class 13, in their spiffy white coats. Pretty cool stuff.

The Dining Room

Looks like I'll just be doing this bit by bit. Here's our new dining room.

Eva Audrey

She has her great grandpa's ears. And I think they're adorable on her. A little goofy, yes, but adorable all the same.

Gotta love these cheeks...

She's just darling when she laughs...

#2

It's nice to see that our chosen profession has ranked #2 in the Best Jobs in America 2009 from CNNMoney.com. And as a side note, if you look at the picture in the article, what's with the print of the little boy in the mini John Deere with the black labs? Are those given out by the AMA to every hospital? I swear that print was in my hospital room when I had Bella...

A few bits...

I really should be cleaning my bathroom right now, but I was just stalling by browing others' blogs and came across some cute quotes and remembered that I have some quotes of Bella's to share. These are from the past 4 months or so...

"Mommy, I loooooove your clavicles!"

:: :: :: ::

"You're my best friend lady, Mom!"

:: :: :: ::

"And so, *clears throat* is Dad going to go on calls on the ambliance and help people tonight?" (This was while Andrew was in Seattle. She kept forgetting that he was in school and thought he was just on the world's longest ambulance run.)

:: :: :: ::

"It's not good to lay on people!"

:: :: :: ::

"Mom, you do miss my dad, don't you?" (Also while Andrew was in Seattle)

:: :: :: ::

"I can't eat my dinner because there might be monsters in my food."

:: :: :: ::

"I think it's morning before Daddy gets here, Mom." (When Andrew was taking forever to come home from Seattle for the last time.)

:: :: :: ::

And slightly inappropriate, but just because it's so funny...
"Mom, my tootses were tickling my little buns."
